dotNate was created to be the gag computer assistant to the mad monkey scientist Dr. Bovy as he attempts to the steal the brain of his newest intern Banana Joe. The monitor was actually my own that I brought in and built out using foam board and scraps from a dismantled radio. The design and interface was mimicking the WindowsXP with the background actually being the same with added banana trees. The face itself was spliced from live webcam feed, filtered with scanlines, and displayed in little windows in which I could change from face feed to "cutaway" loops.
