A handcarved marionette with a second set of internal rigging controlled by a embedded 9 gram servo. The three servo lines are run as black wires blending in with the other puppet strings to a battery powered microcontroller at the end of the control stick.
Do we desire our tools to be sentient so that they would serve us more intelligently?
The performance consisted of the puppeteer attempting to puppet a ballet, growing increasingly frustrated with the marionette itself as it fails to perform gracefully against the creator's vision. After continuing to correct the dancer, the puppeteer stops the music and roughly discards the dancer on the table before leaving the room. Without any support, the dancer convulses weakly as it is tangled in it's strings. The puppeteer returns abruptly with a hammer and slams the dancer, thus resuming the music and maneuvering the limp puppet.
Built around a 9g servo with the horns rigged to the back of the head, shoulders, and pelvis so that upon activation the marionette would spasm, completely contrasting the inherit suspended nature of the puppet. The neck, shoulders, and waist are also springs to allow for return action while the other joints were made with jewelry eyelets. The three wires for the servo are ran through the puppet acting as functional marionette strings with two exiting the shoulders and one out the lower waist.
